I guess things have changed as far as his wishes to be a DC. Sure is a lot of coaching turnover. It is going to be tough for Dooley to settle things with an entirely new staff but at least recruiting doesn't seem to be falling apart. But this is past upheaval and approaching lunacy.

Losing Lance is something I was hoping to avoid all along.  He's stuck with us through a lot.  Hope this isn't true.

They staff that we had was thrown together rather quickly when Dooley took over. Maybe now is the time that he has chosen to get coaches that he wants with more of a vetting process this time.

Considering that he hasn't publicly fired anyone, meaning all the coaches except maybe Baggett appear to have left on their own, I think that your view is an extremely optimistic take.

Heistand may have been "encouraged". However, we've lost 6 coaches now. Pretty high. Not that they're not replaceable. Anyone is.

He is replacing Sunseri on Saban's staff.  He is NOT going to be the DC Smart is still there so no matter what you think Thompson is not going to be the DC at Bama!  And it was his Fairy Godfather dammit!!!!

Didn't the bammers tell us three years ago that Thompson was an alcoholic who couldn't get along with anyone on their staff, and they were glad to be rid of him?  I wonder what's changed between then and now?

The thing is, I think they were right three years ago. I don't understand why Saban would take him back.

There have been many reports from people on different sites that say he is an alcoholic and "likes the ladies". Not to say he isn't a good coach, but I don't think Bammers were wrong about that. Saban has hired him three times now, so he must like him as a coach.

If he were an alcoholic, wouldn't Saban know it, since apparently everyone else does? Why would he rehire a guy with a drinking problem? Answer, he wouldn't. Saban didn't get to where he is by being stupid, doubt he would voluntarily take on a walking time bomb. Have you ever noticed that just about every coach that leaves us in the lurch is an alcoholic, yet they are able to work 16-18 hour days?  Now, he might be a drinker, but that is a far cry from being an alcoholic.

LT is a heavy drinker and if you doubt me let me just tell you that it is NOT me that is reporting this but members of the Legal/Law Enforcement community that I happen to know here in Knoxvegas.  Doubt me all you want but in this case I have chapter, verse, and synonyms!

P.S. Majors was a heavy drinker also and he coached in Knoxville for sixteen plus years.  (And I witnessed Majors slug back five Jack and Cokes one night in West Knoxville and walk out of the place on his own like he had not had a single drink.....and he was sitting right beside me at the bar.)

I didn't say he wasn't a heavy drinker, I am saying that I don't believe that he is an alcoholic, big difference.  When you cite the law enforcement community, are you suggesting he has been put in jail?  If so that would be a matter of public record.

No let us just say the LT was never arrested while in Knoxville, but neither was Kiffin while he was the head coach of the Orange either and his driving skills will never qualify him for Nascar!!

I wonder if we will hire Bo Davis. His name seems to be cropping up.
