It was disappointing. I would say the team was tired after the quick turnaround from Saturday, but South Carolina played at Mizzouri on the road and won, so that?s not a valid reason. Sure wish Barnes would play Estrella more. Aidoo has weak hands and plays scared on offense against any opponent that is evenly matched or better.  A potential silver lining would be if this somehow motivates the team and they get it together and beat UK on Saturday.

Aidoo was just awful from short range.  Needed better FT shooting and...layups, I guess.

Although I also have to say junior hit just about every POS 3 point shot they threw up.  That isn't going to happen every game.

Specifically, they were 6/12 on 3 pointers in the second half.  Ya, we could have done a better job covering some of those, but at the end of the day that's some luck also.

They did an amazing job of creating and exploiting mismatches and moving the ball to find open looks. Not many of their 3 point shots in the second half were really contested.

We were switching a lot more than normal tonight and doubling , especially with Mack in the game, more than we typically do.
Led to a couple of things:
They would overload left, run 55 across the baseline and 2-3 quick passes around the peremiter to him in the right corner for the 3

The switching led to some serious missmatches, Zakai on Mack or their other bid down low 2-3 times that I remember

We also ran Gainey most of the 2nd half from midway on, was Vescovi hurt?
We went small late and Shack was playing the 5, against Mack

In the second half, Tennessee had a total of 2 FGs from someone not named Dalton Knecht!

SC has beaten UK and UT. Probably a little better than advertised. Plus that inconsistency Barnes team albatross reared it's ugly head.

17-3 actually and they obviously should be rted. You forgot to mention they beat UT and UK....AT HOME.

Whatever Barnes inconsistency is, Calipari's is worse, and in baseketball, in case you have not been paying attention, it happens literally to EVERYONE.  They has not been an undefeated NCAA champ since Indiana in 1975.

My take...USC IS good, but is also playing out of their mind, and I don't think they can sustain it.

USC was good enough to win, but I think that this team did a lot to gift them this W.
?. only 9 made FGs in the second half (I was wrong in my post above - DK made all but 2 of the Tennessee FGs after the 17:40 mark of the second half, even though he didn?t have a FG until 2:56 left in the game)
?. 12/20 FTs
?. at least 10 missed shots inside 4 feet
?. 5/21 from the 3 point arc
?. two 7+ minute droughts without a FG in the second half
?. some questionable coaching moves imo (not having a big in the game when Shack was called for 2 fouls and SV not playing the last 4+ minutes of the game are 2 examples)

Give USC credit, they won. Tennessee did a lot to help them, though.
