301 yards passing, 2 TD
166 yards rushing, 3 TD

That has to be one of the top 10 games by a QB in UT history, right?

Well, according to the talking heads, it was the most rushing yards by a QB in UT history.

The announcer's were talking about Dobbs breaking the UT qb rushing mark set by Tee against Fla in '98 and how UT won that game in OT and the CBS camera's being thrown in the TN river..What was similarly fitting was that like that game, this game ended in OT,UT had to settle for a fg and S.C missed their fg just like Fla did back then..Sweet!

See, that's just hard for me to believe with all the mobile QB's we've had like Martin, Shular, Holloway, Streeter, Robinson.. but I guess maybe Dobbs HAS to run more than those guys did.

They may have been mobile and good/great runners, but 166 rushing yards is massive for a QB.  I don't know what the (now) second best total is, but I wouldn't have put it anywhere near 150 yards.  I am still in "wait and see" mode, but that's one heck of an effort.

Utsports.com says the 75 yards Dobbs ran against bama was the most by a Vols QB since Tee Martin's 81 yards against Syracuse in 1998.  So, it appears the 166 yards rushing more than doubled the old QB single game rushing mark.

I think Streeter had the record in the mid 150s.

And just putting the stats aside, he engineered two full-field TD drives in the final four minutes to tie the game, on the road, in his first start of the year.  When was the last time we got clutch play like that out of a QB?  Clausen?

I would say so.  Maybe Ainge vs. UF in 2004 to set up the FG, but obviously that's different than two TD drives.

The old record was 106, set by Streater against Auburn in '79.

Utsports.com says Streater had the old record of 150 against Cal in 1977.
