The corrupt AAU system and the ESPN obsession with Jordan and the highlight dunking spots have killed basketball.  You are not taught fundamentals and how to play the game in AAU streetball.  Also the fact that AAU enables you to only play one year of college ball by letting the pros see you is diminishing skills. Why learn how to dribble when the NBA let's you stop dribbling at mid-court and take as many steps as needed for the highlight 360° slam dunk.

Frankly I think they need to only score a single point for a dunk to actually make shooting a jump shot important again.
