He threw it right to the defender with no Vol even close, he must just have thought the guy was a WR.

Any other thoughts? No other way to explain it that I see.

I thought he had a receiver and made a good pass had the defender not been there. I just don't think he ever saw him and maybe expected him to be helping on coverage on the perimeter. The guy made a good play; as soon as Hooker's eyes went to the middle he broke on the throw. That's how it looked to me, anyway.

I haven't rewatched, but I think he threw late and the safety tracked right into the ball. The WR was open a second earlier.

Yes! I want sure watching it on TV but it looked like we had very few receivers out on that play, which made it even easier for the defender to jump that throw.

Okay that's fair. I didn't bother to rewind and watch it again, my opinion was just based on seeing it in real time.  I'll go back and watch it later.  Still avoidable one though.
