The hiring window us already suboptimal.
I think we’re ok to wait a bit (but not TOO long). There are no other major jobs currently open, so there’s really no competition for the A-listers.
And that’s assuming any A-listers would want this job (and the potential NCAA issues that come with it) anyway. We’ll probably have to hire an assistant, small-school coach, or promote from within, and that can be done anytime.
So if we can save $13M by waiting a few weeks, we might as well.
