I firmly believe that Tony Vitello is the best coach in America. He just lacks that one thing on his resume, but it seems like it?s just a matter of time now- and maybe sooner than later. We?ve made it to Omaha before when we had one or two generational talents on the roster, but those were always the exception rather than the norm. Tony has made it routine, with all different casts of characters. He?s had to replace his entire weekend rotation. He?s had to replace his entire everyday eight. Last year, he had to overcome a toxic locker room in-season. The adversity keeps coming, but he always gets the job done.

It won't hurt my feelings if they go out early. These conference tournaments sometimes reward only teams that get hot and not the team(s) that performed well over the entire season. If we win it, fine. I always want to win. But the important action starts afterwards. It seems that teams doing well in conference tourneys struggle in the big show also, so theres that. |

AJ Russell will get a start if he?s able, and they?re still looking for an answer at DH. The nuclear option is inserting Antigua at SS, moving Curley to 3B, and Amick to DH. Don?t know if he?d do that, but it just might work if Amick is okay with it.
Anyway, all that is to say that no one should panic if we go out early in Hoover. That?s not the tourney that matters. |

Kentucky loses. Vols share the title and get the #1 seed.
