Doug seems like a good dude, but his takes can be vanilla at times. Today he was fairly blunt about coaching and the QB situation.

Big Orange Sunday is worth a listen if you get a chance. Presumably it tells what the AD is thinking.

http://www.coachdougmathews.com/

Highlights are all things we've discussed here, but it's good to hear acknowledgement.

1) JG won't be back
2) Pruitt will be back, but if QB isn't fixed in 2021 he's done
3) JG shouldn't take another snap this year
4) OL has been most disappointing position group
5) Chaney should be QB coach
6) Young talent is there, but not seeing the field

Doug is rarely this blunt so perhaps he got the green light.

Thanks murf.

yep...all this is common knowledge known by most other than Pruitt. I will believe JG won't be back when I see it....Pruitt has already said he has told every player they are welcome back next year.....We have been saying JG should never see the field again for 2 seasons but they still trot him out there when he has proven over and over he will LOSE more games than he WINS.

OL has been a disappointment but the OL coach is Pruitt's buddy....They have improved in the run game but aren't good in pass blocking. Don't understand not getting the younger players involved....Hyatt blew by Bama defenders for 2 TD's....Has he been seen from since? I have read?? That Pruitt said about Bailey....he doesn't have that look on his face! WTH does that mean....JG has had a deer in the headlights look on his face for 4 damn years.

And what school would take JG with a guarantee to start?  He has that here.  He's not leaving.

Even JG is far better than any QB they have on the roster ...

Most of this is BS. Why give him a mulligan on the QB situation? We have a 5* that can't see the field. Is he going to find another to start from the get-go next year? OL is over -rated period. Seems like they automatically forget how to play once they get to Knoxville, just like it seems that all these coaches forget how to coach once they get to Knoxville too. They were all hired because they could coach. What happens to them? Same with the players. They were all recruited because they can play. What happens to them once they get here? shizzlety coaching is the answer. Our 5*'s tend to not play like every other SEC teams 5*'s. Why is that? Coaching. Why is young talent not seeing the field? Coaching. Why do so many make excuses for these turd coaches? BBBbbut who do we get that's better? Many coaches can equal what the last four coaches have done. It doesn't really matter who you get to coach if 8-4 or 7-5 is what you want to see. I want to contend for SEC titles. What will that take?

Our AD is thinking?

Who knew?

It's going out on a thin limb to insinuate thought occurred in the athletic department, but presume it did. If Pruitt does something other than what Fulmer believes is best there's a sizeable schism.
