I noticed that. Also, Ron Rivera looks like he should be breaking legs for Tony Soprano.

I tweeted to a buddy last night that he looks as though he just stuffed a body in a trunk

I know it's in the flag code but most people I know don't put their hand over their heart for the national anthem. I don't see a problem with Newton when it comes to this pic.

He's not even acknowledging the flag or the anthem. Sorry. Don't buy that as an excuse.

OK. We all know I don't take that stuff as seriously as some, so this will have to be a "to each his own" moment. FWIW I thought his behavior overall was really embarrassing. I hope he can learn from it and grow up a bit because kids are certainly watching.

Not defending Cams behavior but anthem etiquette depends on which version you adhere to. Stand and face the flag (if there is one in sight) is the norm. Hand over heart seems optional from the sites I looked at except for the military which is different. Hats and other head coverings removed (at least for men) seems universally recommend. When I was a kid and recited the pledge of allegiance in class hand over heart was what was required but not during the anthem. Don't know when hand over heart became the thing to do. What Cam did is unacceptable under any circumstances. I really used to like the guy even with his showboating antics...might have something to do with overcoming a 24 point deficit vs some team when he was at Auburn.
