Regardless of what some of you think, UT has been told by the state legislature and the Governor that the money is not going to increase and is going to be based not on the number of students enrolled but on the rate graduated.  The actual dollars sent to UT has decreased over the years and UT has been told to increase efficiency and/or cut programs.  UT choose to decrease the number of teachers and programs because of decreased funding.  They are not doing this to spite UTAD and athletes.  The BOT has instructed DiPietro and Cheek to increase the academic standing of UT. Loss of funding has caused UT to eliminate programs.  If you want to blame people, blame Tennessee State Government that does not see education as important.
