Mom came through surgery fine -- I spoke with her a while ago (still drunk and funny as hell -- Mom is always a riot when coming out of anesthesia!). She'll be fine.
Barb's heart surgery went fine and she's in ICU, but they've already taken the breathing tube out.
Wonderful news on both counts -- thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! Now to get Dean through his ordeal later this week without any issues!
Then I can think about the UF game!

Whoa! I'm way behind (as usual). Great news about Mom. Barbie had heart surgery? Oh, man. Glad she is recovering. She's a totally tough woman and she'll be fine. Well, BLESS HER HEART, anyway. Best of everything to you and Dean.

Best of everything to you and Dean. HA!... Not Barbie...my cousin Barbara had a heart valve replaced yesterday. And my Mom had a knee replacement....and my hubby has a melanoma cancer on his face being removed on Friday (hoping the next pathology report looks good and it hasn't spread!). Life has taken precedence for me over FB this year.

That is wonderful, Granny! It is truly fantastic. (My emicons aren't working. ???????) I'm sure the news for Dean will be equally as good.
Had my visit to the dermatologist last Thursday; Dr. Grande said she didn't think the lesion on my face was cancerous. She offered to do a biopsy and I took the offer primarily because of what you guys are going through. The added benefit was the biop would take the deer tick looking knob off my face and have it covered by my medical carrier! That, plus it actually gives me some peace of mind and I have you to thank for getting me off my behind and having it checked. I should have the results this Thursday.
Thanks for bringing this to the attention of all on this board!

Doh! I guess the "cousin" part of what you wrote was invisible to me. Well, good news even if I am dumb.

Another update....Mom is still doing great and will be moved, today most likely, to a transitional rehab facility for a few days...at 84, she's working hard, but the doc knows that if she goes home now, she'll be taking care of Dad and not herself! Dad is missing her -- she really babies him and he's quite spoiled...but then, that's what we do when we love our menfolk! Cousin Barb is still in ICU, the night following surgery she was losing blood -- they finally have that stopped, but now she's in afib (irregular heart beat) and BP is going crazy, up and down. Worried about her... Tomorrow is Dean's day....but it will be another week probably before we know the "final" results and prognosis on him.... please continue with prayers! Life goes on -- the game on Saturday may be a nice break! HA!

Tell Dean that were are thinking of him.
