The only thing to play for now is to avoid the first 8 loss season.
That's just really sad.

I really don't want loss #8. Surely we can avoid it. Maybe?

The game against Vandy will be a game to avoid the SEC cellar. Neither team has won an SEC game. On a lighter note, on the Basilio radio show tonight, Tony suggested that Hoke fire Scott with one game to go. That's funny and sad at the same time.

He should fire Scott tonight. Patchwork OL down to 4 scholarship O linemen but lets run it between the tackles all night. This team doesn't need a bowl game it needs to be in the weight room and some need to git. Need to gitshirt some offensive linemen and go beg...borrow or steal some JUCO's or just get the ones Wisconsin wanted but didn't have room for. The next coach has his work cut out for him.

Since the SEC expanded and went to an 8 game conference schedule in 1992, this will only be the second matchup of 0-7 teams. The other one also involved UT, vs. UK in 2012.

I always wondered what it would be like to be a fan of Kansas, Purdue, Oregon State, and others that seem to have a losing season every year or never compete for even a conference title. It could never get that bad at UT. At least we hope not. I just can't wrap my head around playing for last in the East, yearly.

If you were paying attention, from 2008 to 2014 it was exactly that way. Have you already forgotten? It would have been much, much better to tolerate a few mediocre seasons and ease Fulmer out the door, but Hamilton was a moron. So were the idiots happy we hired Kiffin. I think the best analogy I've heard is that it was like leaving your wife of 20 years, who had gotten kind of frumpy and boring, for some trashy skank that was fun for a bit but then ran off with all your money and left you with an STD. A very good analogy. And those endorsing that lifestyle can do one thing. Suffer. Because they deserve every fizzleing bit of this misery. Just MO.

I recall most of you were drinking the Jones koolaide just a couple of years ago. Were eating the brick by brick crap up. I always thought it was cheesy and just an excuse to take the focus off of Jones coaching. I've never been miserable over any of this situation. I just never made excuses for Jones or losses, unlike several posters. But I also have never said I told you so. I wanted the guy to be successful but could see the shortcomings on the field.

There is nothing wrong with supporting the program no matter who the coach is. And 'brick by brick' wasn't a bad motto at all, it just didn't work. I know people are sick of everything about Butch so they have turned against the motto, but it was exactly what was needed. And whether you like it or not some rebuilding did take place. We did beat both Uga and Florida last year for the first time since 2004, and no matter how you spin it that's an accomplishment. I'm going to go ahead and be happy with the success Butch did have, even though it didn't go far enough. We are curently in a one game losing streak to Florida. It could have been 13.
