...Patrick Turner.

I mean, I seem to recall the greatest pass rusher of all time coming out of Howard High. But sure- Patrick Turner.

Leroy Thompson.

Rated the #1 prospect in the nation at the time.

I played them twice.  It wasn’t him, it was the line they had those years.  They were big, strong and fast as hell.  Thompson was easy to get down if you could just get to him.

BS. My Tennessee High School Vikings had the best group of players in history in 1972.  They were the #1 high school team in the nation. The whole backfield went Power 5. QB David Bibee went to UT, TB Gill Kyle went to Ga Tech, FB George Heath went to Va Tech, LB/TE Greg Jones went to UT the next year, he was a Jr and was a damn good LB at UT. I still talk to him these days. Old Vol 73 probably remembers old "Haysi" Jones. Any of you other old farts remember that '72 Tennessee High team?

Vagina Tech was not P5 in those days. Didn't join the ACC until 2003.  They were independent in 1972.

And what did any of those players ever do in college? I've never even heard of Bibee.  Just making it doesn't count, you have to execute when you get there.

You wanna be a big dawg you gotta run with the big dawgs, that's just how it is.  None of those players ever did shizzle in college, so what does it matter?  They must have been overrated in HS.

HS National champs. We had all-state players all over the field. I was talking about their play in HS. Any high school of yours have all three backfield members all-state. Plus we had 8 total all state players. Jones was a damn good LB at UT.  I think that team had like 28 players play in college. I don't think any other high school team from Tennessee has ever been number one in the nation at years end. But you are right none of them were the best player to come from Tennessee. But I bet a lot of the other old farts on here remember those early '70's Tennessee High teams.

What has Tennessee High done lately?  Who gives a shizzle about 49 years ago.  You have to stay current.  What are they doing up there anyway?  They need to fire the coach.  That will magically solve everything.
