* This was only UT's third home game this season, and the Vols are now 3-0 in TBA. Of the three losses, two were on the road and one was at a neutral site. All three were against teams currently in the Kenpom top 30. They should not damage our RPI much.

* This was the fastest game (63 possessions) UT has played since they beat UMass . . . the last three were all under 60 possessions. That number (63) would still rank UT in the bottom 30 in the nation in tempo.

* This was UT's worst game all season WRT turnovers (27% of possessions) and for defensive rebounding (45% of rebounds given up to the offense). On the flip side, it was the best for turnovers forced (25.4%) and the second best for offensive rebounding (41.7%).

* This is the fifth straight game that UT has held its opponent to less than 1.0 points per possession and the sixth straight time UT has held its opponent to less than 50% in effective FG%. The defense really has been solid. This game would not have been close without Wichita's second chance points.

* UT's 29 made free throws is the most all season by a margin of 9. UT's 2 made 3-pointers were the fewest all season, and the 10 attempts were the second fewest.

* The Vols do not have to go on the road again until January 12. The 5 home games in that span are against Presbyterian (#343 Kenpom), Western Carolina (#202), Xavier (#81), Memphis (#33), and Ole Miss (#21). After last night's win, UT is #53.

Looks like a pretty easy three-game run with two tough ones at the end.  It's probably good that we are "ramping up", and can hopefully work on some stuff in the early games.

Meh.  They are rated lower than us.

Yeah, you can call that a sort of tough game.  If that makes you happy.
