And some of our fans have been d*cks to him because of this . . . people who presume too much and can't keep their mouths shut on twitter and message boards. The kid seems to be taking this decision very seriously instead of playing to the media and relishing the spotlight. Personally, I respect that.
The dark underbelly of Twitter and Facebook is the opportunity these social networks provide for immature idiots to communicate directly with 18-year-old college recruits. A lot of these fans are kids and I can overlook them. But there are a lot of adults out there who bash these guys for the decisions they make or don't make. I don't follow recruits on Twitter or Facebook but occasionally I'll stumble over a conversation. It drives me nuts. Every fan base would probably be better served if it could muzzle a certain sector of the fan base and make them go away.
