The last time Tennessee beat ranked teams in consecutive weeks was October 1995: 49-31 over No. 18 Arkansas one week, then 42-14 over No. 12 Alabama the next. ("Touchdown on play number one.")

The last time Tennessee was 5-0 was 1998.

The last time Tennessee was part of a Top 10 matchup (which seems almost guaranteed for next week) was October 2005: No. 5 Georgia beat No. 8 us at Neyland Stadium, 27-14.

The last time Tennessee was on CBS three consecutive weeks was 1998 (vs. Auburn, Georgia and Alabama).

It sure is starting to feel like the old days around here.

(Tennessee was on CBS three consecutive weeks in 2001, but that was a little different...Vandy, Florida and LSU. The Florida game was rescheduled and the LSU game was the SECCG, so it wasn't the weekly 3:30 CBS game.)

Funny...I was thinking before this game that it reminded me of how i felt in 1998 the week of uga.  That was the week after a big win down at Auburn and prior to bammer.  It was a very special feeling, but in truth that game was  a bit bigger than today's.  Both were satisfying, but this one much more so.

Don't jinx it..was just thinking how satisfying the Bristol game was, then the Fla game, then this miracle game..the only thing better would be to run the table and spank bama..but like Butch says..brick by brick

Is there a rule about 4X in a row?  Because if these cardiac kids keep up stressing my heart we and bamer will be the headliner in the SEC the 3rd Saturday in October

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

I have to think there's a good chance we're the CBS game that week even if we don't beat TAMU. Personally, I would rather play the nightcap on ESPN. I coach soccer and our games are always in the middle of the afternoon on Saturdays. All these 3:30 starts are really cramping my style.
