I never questioned that he could eventually be a no. 1 draft pick, but I did think it was silly any bloggers were talking about it prior to LAST SEASON. Still do.

This year it's more appropriate, but it hasn't happened yet. I still say he has yet to be really tested for a full season. He played nothing but patsies in 2010, and last year the two best pass D's he faced were uga and .... wait for it.... KENTUCKY. Seriously, UK was 28th in the country vs. the pass last year (a fact that seems to have escaped the notice of our coaching staff

).
Let him get a full season under his belt and manage not to dodge the bammers and LSUs and then I'll be impressed.
But of course, I DO hope he has that kind of season. Reading in an SI article still doesn't make it so though.

That's pretty much my attitude about it. I think he can be high NFL draft pick, but he needs more experience, and he needs to be more consistent and cut down on his mistakes.
And not to throw water on the fire, but the blogger in question is "McLovin" on the Dan Partick Show. I don't know how seriously he's taken as a serious NFL journalist. He has a habit of making outrageous predictions in the hope that they'll hit and make himself look like a genius. The fact he has Bray over Barkley, at this point anyway, doesn't appear very sound.
But OTOH, he did make a good point that the new rookie salary structure makes taking a risky pick less punitive. Perphaps that's a contributing factor as to why Tannehill went so early this year with his limited experience.
