I was reminded of UF 2012. Gameday was here, the crowd was pumped, we played a great 3 quarters...and fell apart.

There are similarities, but in my opinion also a big difference.

When we fell apart against UF in 2012 we fell apart.  It was a disaster.  It went from being a game we were on the verge of winning to a butt kicking.

I didn't see that this time. I saw us let them off the hook, but just barely.  It's as if UF was actually a much better team in 2012 and just woke up and established that, while in this case we went into a a shell and let them sneak a win.

Let me put it this way....after our loss to Florida in 2012 I actually thought "this must be how vandy fans feel when they get a lead on us and then we come back and beat them".

I didn't feel that last night, at all.  I felt we early on established we were the better team but became complacent.

A better comparison for me is last year's Florida game (there are differences there too, but it's a closer fit).

The good news is that there are still 10 more games for this team to redeem itself.  Hopefully what we saw against Florida last year and also last night are the growing pangs of a team not accustomed to winning, that just has to figure out how to play when they are ahead .

I have faith that they will figure this out in a similar game later in the year.  I hope I am right.

we sustained the noise last night.  Not so much in 2012, or 2006 against Cal.  Last night the fans brought it for 60+ minutes
