This either sinks the story, or offs a whole bunch of folks up the chain.

Interesting tweets by Crowder. He calls for Vol Nation to "come together," but steers clear of saying Butch didn't do anything, which would've quieted the story once and for all.

Let's just wait and see if Butch is still the coach at UT once the season ends.

So this is the best tale of what happened I've gathered on VN, just based on who posted it and how others react to said poster in a way that suggests that when this guy posts the others listen:

The 2 had to be separated and supposedly nobody saw a punch. On the Azzani front CBJ talk super stupid to Azzani in front of the entire WR core and told him
get this **** fixed or you're going to be looking for a job soon. The players said they were astonished to say the least as Azzani is CBJ's golden boy. As far as who leaked it, I have no idea as we heard of this incident when it 1st occured which was in the preseason.

Hopefully the Azzani part is true. First staff member who needs to go, IMO.

as a former coach and player, that never happened when I played or coached-  if a player or a coach had that type issue it was handled prior to practice or after practice.  In coaching moments you could say lots of things to get the player into gear.  if you cross the line at that moment in time usually it was resolved after practice and in the coaches office.  just my experience and by no means does that add up but this does not sound like any head coach I have played for or worked with.  Could CBJ be trying to take a different route to get to the core of the problem and flip the switch IDK but he does not appear on the surface to be that way.  He did have the one situation in USCjr game where he blew up on the kid because we had 10 on the field but that was just red face yelling-could not read lips but could understand that he was pissed and should have been-how in the world does a major / power of 5 conference go on the field 1 man short on the normal D set.

That matches my impression of what happened.  There was an incident, it was really not that big a deal and maybe happens quite a bit.  Heck, there was a band directer in HS who called me out in front of our entire 100 person band.  I coulda shoulda offered to kick his arse.

Having said that, Crowder is horrible and probably did need to be challenged.
