They’ve added a lot of talent lately, including Jason Whitlock. IMO, JW is the best, most insightful national sports-ish writer in America today (“sports-ish” because no national sportswriter sticks strictly to sports these days). Seems like Clay’s trying to step up and compete with sites like The Athletic (who just laid off a bunch of talent, btw). I wonder if OKTC will go to the pay model?

Seems like yesterday when we were laughing at Clay’s liveblogs of UT basketball games. Like him or not, he’s big time now.

And he's still a pompous jackass.

I like Whitlock though, even though I disagree with him a lot (which is kinda the point for a sports columnist).

I also disagree with Whitlock, probably even more often than not. But even when I do, he still almost always makes a very compelling argument.

Whitlock got fired because a lot of blacks viewed him as an Uncle Tom.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucwm_KFPwYo&t=28s I watched Speak for Yourself periodically. Didn't hate it or love it.

Whitlock himself tells a very different story. And seeing as he landed another high-profile job a week later, I would tend to believe him over the guy podcasting from Mom's basement.

Clay Travis is 100% political on twitter. Kinda gets old. Well, 90-95%. I assume he is just pandering to what he knows is his audience.

I think there is definitely some pandering.  I like him well enough I guess.
