A few bowls have cancelled and several schools have said that they won't be bowling.

Last I saw 11-12 bowls have cancelled and 5-6 schools said they aren't going bowling.

I have no problem with schools opting out of bowls after the season schools/players just went through......And with the season going into mid December and bowls upon us schools would be in bowl practice mode and kids wouldn't be going home for Christmas and schools not wanting players going back to their homes and getting and bringing back the virus. I can see bowls being cancelled at the last minute due to virus issues like it has effect many games during the season.
