Our “big” OOC opponent the next two years is Pittsburgh. Next year, our rotating West opponent is Ole Miss. We could be an even worse team and still stumble into 7-8 wins. Which will probably only serve to buy Pruitt some more time (and a big raise/extension) before reality kicks us in the ass in 2023 or so.

Might as well play a soft schedule. Everyone yells that the good G5 teams should be considered for the playoff with their soft schedules. Yet these are the same tools that scream SEC schools should play tougher schedules.

Our schedule will still be tougher than the gauntlet that Clemson will face.

If only we could get UF, UGa and Bama off of it, it would be G5 playoff worthy.

Of course. But by SEC standards, it’s about as easy as it gets. If we go 4-0 OOC, and find 4-5 more wins against the likes of Vandy, OM, SC, Mizzou, and UK, then we’re in a NYD bowl, and Pruitt probably gets bumped up to $5M per year with a bigger buyout.

I dont think Pruitt deserves any more raises unless he wins 10 in the regular season but thats just me.

He deserves to be fired. What makes you think he is that guy to lead us to an SECe championship? He is worse than Jones. The biggest question is why isn't he gone? Just looking at the QB situation is enough to get rid of this turd. Give me a reason to keep him.

I don’t think anyone disagrees. But it is what will happen. It is what has always happened at UT, at least over the last decade. Win 6-7 games, get a raise and extension. We reward mediocrity, and then pay the price when that buyout comes due on the back end. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I read 2 weeks ago we've gone 13 straight years paying 2 football coaches at the same time.....The one we fired and the one we hired.

I can't believe anyone thinks Pruitt deserves to retain his job. Give me a reason when other schools (Texas, Auburn) are firing winning coaches. Kiffin coaches circles around Pruitt. See what he did to Indiana. What do we owe Pruitt? Fulmer and Pruitt need to be kicked to the curb. I don't get some of you guys loyalty to Pruitt and Fulmer. It is Fulmer's fault we are in this situation dating back to his coaching days. He was a lazy ass who thought winning a title would keep him employed indefinitely.

Look around. How many people here think Pruitt should keep his job? I can name one, off the top of my head. One. And that one doesn’t seem to feel very strongly about it.

Why are you always looking for a straw man to beat up?
