I try not to pile on because Bob is a really nice guy. And he inherited an impossible task. He is not John Ward, he was never going to be John Ward, but he was always going to be held to Ward's standards...and even after 24 years he still is.

But y'all... We have one of the nation's biggest fanbases, world-class facilities, a team that appears to be on its way back to prominence, and THIS is the best "voice" we have? Could he have been any less enthused on that kick? I don't want a guy that squalls and screams and you can't understand what he's saying on big plays. I constantly see those game-winning calls plastered on social media like they're something special and they make me cringe. But surely we can reach a balance between professionalism and enthusiasm. We just beat Alabama for the first time in 16 years, on the final play of the game, and that's all the excitement he could muster? Do we need to add a Vol Network staffer who can hit the button on an adrenaline drip every time Bob needs to inflect some enthusiasm into his calls?

I'm okay with the call

But obviously would have loved to hear Ward call it

There have been times his accost apologetic when we score
Besides rarely getting personnel, yardage and other basic things correct

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

Heard it for the first time today,  too.

He might as well have been reading the nightly news.  Zero heart or emotion.

Like Creek I try not to get on Bob too much because he's doing and has done for years something most us would have loved to do...What little I've listened to him over the years he just hasn't done much for me...A good play by play person has the ability to put you in the stadium/arena even though you might be hundreds of miles away...Bob doesn't do that or even come close...

The only thing I can think of is radio just isn't what it use to be....Many of us can remember the days that for only a couple of times a year if you weren't at the game the only link you had to the Vols was the radio.....The last many years you just don't need the radio to connect to the Vols....Maybe the radio and the announcers just aren't as valued as they use to be?
