Arguably the best college player of all-time. He was one of my favs. He was also a hoot as an announcer. Injuries derailed his pro career but he was still a great pro. That game in the NCAA tourney against Memphis State was one of the all-time great individual performances. He could beat you so many ways. He marched to his own drummer though.

I wasn't impressed with him as an announcer, other than he had a lot of funny stories (for instance, the time Kareem knocked out a couple of his teeth with an elbow). I was watching a Pac 12 game a few years ago, and he said "the Pac 12 is the greatest conference, I stand by that".

So, he would say silly things like that. I liked him, but I would not say he was a "good" announcer, other than as a comedian.
