Looks great, but they?re wiping out ALL of G10, rather than just the top level (as previously stated). That?s a LOT of parking spaces to replace, and I don?t know where they can put another parking deck of that size.

It's going to end up bigger than current
They are going to totally replace it
Originally, they were going to just add on top of it
They need to add spaces for the hotel/condo and the entertainment district itself
I suspect at least one more level down will be added

Biggest issue is that G-10 is the PRIMARY basketball parking facility and it will be not available for at least one season

They say ?full replacement of G10?, but where will that be? Because I don?t see any parking in those pics. Is it going to be in a new location, or the same location but ALL underground? If so, that will be insanely expensive.

My go to "entertainment district" used to be the candy counter in the student center and then watching SEC football in the movie theater.....all long gone now.

Well, that was too many years before being legal!  In my legal years, YouTee's office was my go to entertainment district.

I may have spent some money at that candy counter back in the day

It?s bittersweet.  Gamedays throughout my childhood always started with Dad and I arriving at campus about 3 hours before kickoff.  We?d slide into the old student center and chuckle at the line for the bathrooms cause those people didn?t seem to know about the bathrooms towards the back.  We?d buy snacks and head outside and slowly ease by the older fellow in the green jacket to try and hear what tickets were going for on the street.  We?d get a couple of copies of the News Sentinel and just relax for awhile and people watch.

He?d tell anyone who?d listen how he only paid $1.25 for his Sundrop and box of popcorn, while it was 4x-5x that price inside the stadium.

I think it was the Oklahoma game during the Butch years when we arrived on campus and the old student center was just.. gone.  That was jarring.

This new district looks exciting and I know change is inevitable, but at the same time I know I?ll always miss the game day experience of my childhood.

I?m very thankful Dad is still able to go to the games!  He hasn?t missed a home game since 1961!  I think that?s 416 games now.

Wow...that is something about your Dad.....and you were right about the bathrooms. We never waited.
