And I feel like sh!t. I have started taking Paxlovid.
For 3 plus year I have been closely exposed to Covid at least 7 times and never got it.
Now I haven't been close to anyone in a crowd for the last three weeks, and I get it. I blame Costco or the grocery store,

I got it last Labor Day weekend....Started feeling bad on the Friday. I thought I just had a cold, sinus issues etc....By Monday if you had shot me I would have felt better. I slept in my recliner for a week because if I laid down I coughed up my toenails. Took me a week to feel better...took me 3 weeks to feel 80 percent normal. I went 10 days and I couldn't smell a thing...Due to my health issues I'd had all the Covid shots too... Hope you are better and the wine tastes right..

I had all of the shots and had avoided it until now. I think it eventually gets everybody. Interestingly, I never lost my taste or smell. I have slept in my recliner the last 5 days. I can recline it enough to sleep but not set off the coughing. I just took a test and I am now negative.

I had it twice. The first time all symptoms were gone after 3 days, but it took like two weeks before I tested negative and could return to work. The second time was earlier this year and the symptoms were so minor that I didn?t even report it and went in to work anyway. Does that make me a bad person?

Good!!! And it's so nice to go back to your bed and sleep on your side!! I am not a back sleeper....I would try to cheat to my side in the recliner but didn't work much.

Thank goodness for Paxlovid. And yea, the recliner doesn't conform to a body on its side.

I got it in August 2022, and may have had it earlier this year, I never tested, but I think that was just a cold. In 2022, my symptoms were very similar to yours. Could not smell for about a month. Bad symptoms of fever and very tired for about 24 hours, then the fever mostly broke but I still felt pretty shizzlety for a couple of days. A fair amount of coughing, maybe not as much as in your case, but a lot. Also extremely tired. On that one day the symptoms peaked, I slept 18 hours. Then I had deep fatigure for like two weeks. Missed about 20 hours of work the second week after being out sick the entire first week, then I was very lethargic at times for months after that, though it came and went. Smell came back after about a month, but was only partial at first. Its more or less normal now. What was really weird was to hold something up to my nose that smellled awful and get no sensation at all. It just seemed wrong.

I got it the 1st time during the Orange Bowl trip Symptons were normal for my usual bad cold This was before Paxlovid was released for treatment Kicked my ass for > a week Never really lost my sense of taste
2nd time was during the bamer trip last year (damn bamers!) Very mild If I wasn't planning on going to the KY game I would have never tested (took till Sat morning when I tested before heading to KY for it to pop positive) By Tuesday, no symptoms and a negative test Still not sure I actually had it
