A positive development since we went through this last time is that "off brand" UT fan gear has gotten a LOT better. Better than either of the big two, IYAM. It used to be you could either get the "official" Nike/Adidas stuff, or some crappy looking Walmart knockoff. But now there's Peter Millar, Cutter &Buck, Volunteer Traditions (my personal favorite) and others, and all of their polos/hats/tshirts/sweatshirts are better than the big brand stuff. So as it concerns what I will personally wear on gamedays, I really have no preference who they go with, because I won't buy either.

I always hated Nike (and still do) because they ruined college sports before NIL came along and REALLY ruined college sports. I will admit that our teams generally looked better in Nike than they did in Adidas. Though Adidas seems to have come a long way on that front with other schools. And I understand that all of our uniform designs will be done in house by UT personnel. So that could work out. And Nike still feels like a sleazy outfit to me. I never felt comfortable seeing our teams in their gear.

Whatever. Just go with whoever pays the most.

Their contract with Nike is up in June 2026. Doesn't mean they won't re-up with them. I am okay with Adidas. But some of the Nike stuff looked pretty good, like the smokey grays. All the brands are produced in third world sweat shops.
