It's been several years since I've seen it, I had forgotten just how great a movie it was.  One of the greatest sports films ever, IMO.  When the TV series was announced, I remember having doubts that it could do the movie justice, but of course it was great in its own right.  I had forgotten that Connie Britton and Brad Leland had been in the movie too, and in basically the same roles as they played in the series.
