There was no way to avoid a total legal nightmare if he stayed, and still many legal minefields even with him gone. My guess is there was never a chance, never any negotiation, just due diligence research and discussion of potential legal ramifications among university and state authorities before pulling the trigger. I'll guarantee you one or more job candidates sue the university over his hiring her. |
