http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2012/04/10/charlie-strong-is-upset-at-the-louisville-media-so-hes-banned-them/

Charlie Strong, Louisville’s football coach, has banned the local media from covering the team. It’s unclear if this is a temporary thing, or whether Strong will follow though on his ban throughout the season.

Why the ban? According to Adam Lefkoe, an ESPN radio host in Louisville, Strong is perturbed the local media went gaga for Rick Pitino’s Louisville Cardinals making a run to the Final 4. The basketball team hogged all the media coverage and apparently, Strong thinks the spotlight should have been on the football team during Spring practice.

A third consecutive 7-6 season will get him banned.

He probably told them they were "bad" people too.

and apparently is a Catch 22 fan since he is holding a press conference Thursday about the ban.  "Thank you for being here, but you can't be here.  If you are here, please discontinue your attendance.  Don't be here tomorrow for another update"

I don't think the blogger has the correct rationale.   I believe Strong must have other reasons for doing this.  (not saying such reasons are justified)

Any head coach at Louisville will know UofL's basketball history and would know that UofL basketball is going to dominate media coverage during a run to the Final Four.   No way did Strong believe that spring football should get top billing over the Card's Final Four appearance.
