The first episode was great. The writing (at least in this first episode) is outstanding. If you have HBO, watch the "making of True Detective". That will give you some background on the story. I look for this series to be a lock for award winning Television.

I agree Panhandle.  Was a very good show.  I might have to get Skinimax just to watch it.
