I wouldn't blame him. UT will not maximize his talent, and I hate to say that.

I just read where yesterday, both Hurd and Kongbo were said NOT to be leaving....now Hurd is apparently true so guess we'll see about Kongbo, if that one is true or not.

Hurd going to transfer where he can play "receiver or TE" according to Jimmy Hyams and Jayson Swain.

Kongbo still with the team - for now, according to Swain.

MAC level coach is in deep doo doo.

This is a game-changer. I don't think we can say any longer that Butch is safe for this year regardless what happens.

1) Vinnie is apparently alive.

2) Butch has done a great job cleaning up things. For that I'm grateful. However, we need to make a change while there's no rebuild involved IF we can get an A-lister (Petrino, Gary Patterson, or Chip Kelly). Otherwise, sit tight.

Disagree with you on this one.  While he may have "cleaned up" in some areas, he has created equally polluted piles of trash in other areas.

Unfortunately we are now seeing the results of stacking bricks without putting mortar in between them.

Being a head football coach at an SEC school is a tough job.  But the financial rewards are incredible for those lucky enough to get the opportunity to coach at an SEC school.  The reality is, however, that if it doesn't work out a school fires a coach and hires another.  And if he doesn't work out they fire that guy and bring in the next guy up.  Repeat until you get it right.  That's the game.

Apparently this situation with Hurd reached a boiling point at Georgia. He told Butch he was quitting and didn't make the return trip to Knoxville with the rest of the team...but then begged back onto the team and was made to skip the TAMU trip as punishment.

There sure does seem to be a lot of fire behind the smoke that Pirate has been referencing, re: the reaction of the rest of the team after Hurd's touchdown in Columbia. If reports are to be believed, Hurd has been a cancer in the locker room all season.

And needs to happen sooner than later... I read where an interim Chancellor is in the works to make this happen. Hope it is true. Even more than anything else,  UT needs stable executive leadership.
