If you're doing 4 pods of 4 you can do 4 pods of 5. Sure you can't do home and home every 4 years with everyone, but otherwise you're fine.

Ultimately, I think the SEC will have four pods of 8, 9, or maybe even 10, stretching from coast to coast, playing for their own Championship. Some might even call them “conferences”.

It appears that the SEC has decided to tear up the Power 5 landscape I believe they end up at 20 2+ from the ACC and maybe 1 more from the former Big 12. I do not think any of the powerhouse BCC schools will move At the end of the day I think it will be the Power 4 (SEC, BCC, PACXX and a weakened ACC) The former Big 12 goes the way of the dodo bird Former members go to the PACXX and C-USA (maybe 1 to the BCC as the B12 is not known for academics which the BCC would like you to think that they care about)

If they want to continue to compete at the highest level for the most money, they may not have a choice. This thing is like a snowball rolling downhill.

I knew it! I knew there would be more about this that I didn't like. Letting the tiglets in makes me nauseous.
On the other hand, it might ensure that they lose some games each season.
But I'm still queasy.

Let’s say the SEC does add Clemson and FSU. That’s a single conference that has constituted 19 of the 28 playoff teams since this format began in 2014. Six of the seven champions. Now imagine that conference says “We’re breaking away from the NCAA. The rest of you can either join us, or stand pat and play for diminished titles and mid-major money. Oh, and we only have 12 more slots available. Now who’s in?” I’m guessing the SEC could pick whichever 12 teams they want. OSU, UM, Wiscy, and PSU. UNC, Duke, VPI and UVA. USC, Oregon, AZ. And finally, ND sees the writing on the wall and reluctantly signs up. I think that’s the scenario we’re looking at here. Again, for better or worse.

I'm pretty much with you, there. But I am still not sure if the statute of limitations has run out on that thing yet, so my going to a game in the hamlet beside the sewer known as Lake Hartwell is doubtful.

This whole power grab was brought on by the fact that Sankey and the other SEC powers that be felt pretty froggy when they basically saved college football last year all on their own. The timing was just right to keep its stronghold on it, and even NIL couldn't slow them down.
