So.....2022, 2021, 2020 we only signed 4 DB players...Most gurus say...other than the QB's the DB's are the most important players/position on the team...

2018-1 3* Kenneth George

2019-1 4* Tyus Fields, 2 3* Warren Burrell and Kenny Solomon

2020-0 CB's signed.

2021-0 cb's signed, 2 3* transfers only

We really missed Alontae, although the way they were calling it, he would have gotten 3-4 PI calls.  Given how incredibly thin we were at DL and LB, I thought we got more than we could expect from those positions, but the DB was our achilles heel all year.  Alontae and Theo had decent years, but that is it.  Got to get better there if we are going to take another step forward.

Excellent point. If we can get 3 starters in the portal anywhere on defense it will help.

Yikes! Had no idea recruiting was so thin at those positions.  One reason for 2019 may be that Pruitt brought in a lot of DB talent in 2018 and we were good for a  year.  2021 might could be chalked up to the transition (but we did grab the portal players), but no excuse for 2020.

Agree with hitting the portal as hard as we can.

Losing Lawrence to OU was a huge loss
Also, losing Charles to injury at safety hurt us as well, He should be a starter next year, even if Flowers returns
Not having Turnage available (his natural position is CB, though he played STAR when Theo was hurt) for the MCB hurt us as I suspect he would have eventually came in to replace Hadden
