Beam starting. Interesting choice, given his recent struggles. Taking UK for granted and saving Burns for the championship, I guess? Not saying that’s necessarily wrong.

Nice recovery that inning. I’m sure they’re planning on piggybacking one of Burns/Sewell tonight and starting the other tomorrow. Still, the more innings Beam can give us, the better.

So I’ll admit I’m not the most fanatical baseball guy on the board and I’m one who this magical team has pulled in…

But this is a total embarrassment of riches of a pitching staff, right?   Holy smokes!

Any of our 4 weekend starters could #1 guys for 99% of other teams. And our midweek starter Xander Sechrist has a sub-2 ERA. He will probably come out of the bullpen in the postseason, making it even deeper. So yeah, pretty good. Maybe the best ever. Time will tell if they challenge some of the great Vandy and UCLA staffs for success at the next level.
