He got sort of a raw deal. He was hired immediately after Leach died and then apparently was expected to be successful his first year. And then Will Rogers got hurt.

He managed to PO just about everybody associated with the program, including the administration

Never...never made sense to hire him in the first place. After Leach died then yes for their bowl game but not hired long-term.

Even stranger though is that he went completly, 100% away from the wide open passing game of Leach. In one year.  With Will Rogers.   

Given that dumbass offensive decision, I can understand the firing.  I haven't seen his payout, but doubt it's $76 million.
