Have we been in 12 personnel at all tonight? Seems that could have aided protection.
yes, several times
We were in it for 2 series after Squirrel was hurt
And when we scored our TD

Good to know. The game has been on, but I have no only watched intermittently after it was 14-0.

They are just way better than Tennessee. Jimmies and Joes. There's a big gap between the top 4 or 5 programs and their talent compared to the second tier teams. That's just my opinion.

I don't think Neyland would have changed the outcome at all. They are better at almost every position than Tennessee. They beat Tennessee 8 or 9 out of 10. It is what it is.

Learn from it and move forward.

The Vols are only 4 years removed from Jeremy Pruitt. Tennessee is improved but just aren't there yet.

We have zero skill players who would sniff OSUs 2 deep.

We need a new OC and DC.....bad.

They have many more 4 and 5 star players and an article I saw ranked them #1 in NIL money having spent more than 20 million.

I thought we were up there in NIL money but we weren't in the top 10.

Boo should have been deep. Even I knew their kicker's range is 45 yards.

Yeah I wish we had tried that

That's what you get when you expect a team laden with 4* and 3* players to beat a team laden with 5* and 4* players. Plus our coaching is lacking as well. Everyone has deemed Heuple an offensive guru. He's not. Nico has not progressed near as much as he should have. He still has that deer in the headlights look when he does his progressions and no one is open. OSU getting Chip Kelly as OC was a huge move. I think the 12 team playoff is letting a lot of teams think they can match up and play with the elite teams. They cant. About 8 schools have elite programs consistently. Unfortunately 3 or 4 of them are in the SEC and we ain't one of them. Until we start getting top5 recruiting classes it's not going to happen because UGa, Texas, Bama and OU will always be close to top 5 recruiting every year. We may beat some of them periodically but not regularly. OU and Bama will not be bad long. OSU and Oregon winner probably wins the title. Sucked to draw OSU first game for us but their was multiple teams that I thought we could beat that was in the playoff. I have doubts about that now.

21-25 million dollars of NIL money says it all.

I saw an article that listed the top 10 NIL programs. We weren't in it. OSU was on top.

I thought we were competitive in the NIL. Apparently, we are going to have to step up our game.

What 3 or 4 teams are elite in the SEC?  The only two I see prior to Texas and OU coming in are Uga and bammer, and bammer is now down a notch.  As you point out, OU is not elite currently.  Texas is...kind of.  They have only been a playoff team for two years now.  Their claim to fame last year was that the beat bammer in tuscaloosa.  This year, its hard to tell how good they are, their schedule was incredibly soft, and uga beat them silly n their home field.

As for OU, they are currently way behind us in the 2025 recruiting rankings.  They may catch us through the later signing day and/or portal, but they have a rough road ahead iMO

I was counting Texas, OU, UGa and Bama. They consistently out recruit the Vols. So does LSU most years. UF is starting to improve in recruiting as well plus SCar is starting to come along too. It is not getting easier to be in the top tier of the SEC.

Thats what I said.  There are not 4 teams "in the SEC" ahead of us, without counting OU and Texas.  OU should not be included in that group.  Historically Uga and bama have always been ahead, bama since Saban cheated his way to no.1 10/12 years (a run that will NEVER occur again in the NIL era) and uga the last 5/6 years since Kirby took over the program.

Texas has not recruited this well in a long time, their success in that category is two years old and may not continue.

In short, volsboy is exaggerating.

And for the record, Rivals has uga 3rd, texas 5th and the recruiting season is not over yet.

Does that help, or do I need to keep explaining?

Saying a really obvious fact like "the Vols are not in the top tier of the SEC in recruiting" is one thing.  Making our opponents out to be some sort of unapproachable football gods is another.

Bama didn't even make the playoffs, and there are doubts about DeBoer. Lets see how well uga does without their lamgorgheni driving weird ass QB, and Texas may have made the playoffs two years in a row but they ain't won nothing yet and likely wont.
fizzle ALL of them I say. GO VOLS!
