I find it funny that when a player transfer from us somewhere else we don't have much good to say about the player that left....But we are ok with players that transfer to us.

I think it will be a true competition
Neither of the two leaders in that competition have a clear edge in my view

Aguilar didn't come here to be a B/U but I also doen't think he is even a Core I7 processor either
Judging Merkslinger's limited action last year and last Saturday, not sure his processor is better
(FWIW I think GMAC has potential there, based on a way too small sample size, last Saturday, but he still has a similar steep learning curve as Aguilar but had the 15 practices this Spring)
Nico took far too many reps away from both of them this Spring (OTOH, Nico now has to learn a new system from a first time OC)

Aguilar has an extremely steep learning curve ahead of him, in a very short period of time
Merkslinger has a year in the system but based on Heup's words after the practice Saturday and and Heup's hell bent pursuit on getting another potential starter not sure if he has the inside track

The first couple weeks in August will be very interesting to say the least

At the moment, Merkslinger doesn't elicit confidence either
GMAC is most likely the best of the 3 and he is still gift wrapped from Christmas

No one truly knows what kids are being paid and it's 95 percent Internet/media fodder. The other 5 percent is so called agents leaking numbers so they can increase their client base.

True, to an extent
Hell, in the espn article Nico's "orbit" says he was making close to $4M at Tennessee

Have you noticed that in the last 10 days or so saga the one organization that hasn't been quoted or "sourced" other than a the following denial ('A Spyre representative told ESPN that there were no missed payments') is who?
We also now have confirmed where that rumour started last week and that is where the denial came from

I normally go out of my way to avoid being negative on kids that leave.

Making a big exception this time.

Merk's advantage is familiarity with the system.  How fast can Aguilar pick things up?  How fast can it click?  We shall see.

I've read that due to UCLA being on the quarter system....Aguilar probably won't get here until June? That's not good if he wants to be a starter.

I predict Aguilar starts the season because of experience and is replaced vs UAB.

He might be here a little earlier. Slightly better.
