More like dust. They pulverized the hell out of that thing. Thank goodness.

I am really happy to hear this news ... I mean REALLY ... even the thought of a kidney stone, for me or for anyone else, makes me squirm.  My philosophy about pain is ... "it hurts".  No amount is acceptable, much less that of a kidney stone.

Congrats and enjoy your new-found normality.

I probably shouldn't tell this story. But...... (right; famous redneck's last words).

Back in the late 1970's I worked at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga and I lucked into a position as being probably the very first full-time cardiac rehabilitation employee in Tennessee. Hell, my immediate boss was only part-time for this new idea in treatment! I got to write policy manuals, even my own job desription (no one else in the nation could have possibly replaced me and I even got VP sign-off approval!!!!). Anyway, I (as a graduate of Red bank High School Class of 1974 & a cert. by the American College of Sports Mediine in Excerise Technology) taught resident docs how to run treadmill/bicycle/stairs stress tests and read/interpret the EKG's; I showed them how to do it (that could have been a big malpractice suit right there, though I did know what I was doing). Well some Central or South American student doc was appreciative and trustful and did very well the 2 weeks he spent in rotation with us. Then the sob had stones, was admitted to the hospital and trusted my ass so much to personally request his physician ask that I be the one to catheterize him and check his piss for chunks of calcium!!! Having never had done that, I was freaked; #1 - he was a Dr.; #2 - you have to keep a completely sterile feild; #3,4,5,6, etc. it was his pecker! (Really 1 & 2 are the most important things in medicine. Think annual physical!)

Well nothing was found and he thanked me and told me he had a new-found respect for women in labor. I was never so happy than to have the next three days off. I made sure I proved my manhood to my wife (and myself) many times that weekend.

I HATE kidney stones talk; stop it! 53 Days?

You of all people should know that it was Droner's Liver, not Droner's Kidney.

I have all the files somewhere.

Having them is a bad thing, getting rid of them is a good thing.  My Urologist told me that the reason those stones hurt so bad is that if you could move, you'd be trying to take them out with a kitchen knife.
