I understand that Adams is generally a bit negative but do all of his stories create such angry responses?
Short answer: yes.
John Adams is an extremely talented writer, but he's also a lightning rod. And he wouldn't have it any other way. Frankly, I don't care a whole lot for columnists whose primary purpose is to stir up emotions and debate, even though that's always their job to some extent.
For example, Adams talks about Pead having a highlight reel day against UT's defense and suggests that Georgia's Isaiah Crowell and LSU's Spencer Ware will be even better.
Pead had 155 yards against UT, but aside from the 65-yd. touchdown run, he didn't do anything overly spectacular. The play I remember him for in that game is being unable to pick up a yard on 4th down at midfield, which was a huge momentum swing in UT's favor. And Pead is a better running back than Crowell by far...and maybe a better back than Ware.
