of himself. I agree he is not the best scapegoat for UT football struggles. I, for one wish he was still at UT. He gave the program moxy it never had under Fulmer.

If lame was still here, we would have received much more severe sanctions, period, dot. lamo and O were playing fast and lose with the rules. I am forever GLAD he left!

Amen! He did us a huge favor by leaving. Also his running off several players combined with his bust of a recruiting class added to the problems we had regarding talent and depth. I supported him while he was here but in the end I was glad he left. If lame was still here, we would have received much more severe sanctions, period, dot. lamo and O were playing fast and lose with the rules. I am forever GLAD he left!

First time I've seen/heard someone say they long for Lane. He almost broke our program after only one year, who knows what damage wouldve been done had he been here longer.

Let me be perfectly clear....LANE KIFFIN is the AntiChrist. I was not wired to his being the coach at UT and was not enamored at him and Ogeridiot as the coaches and recruiters. If Lane Train is the coach UT is under probation and is under double secret death penalty probation and would be looking at being so far behind because we would have lost 20 scholarships over the period of three years. Lawyers here in Knoxville told me that the NCAA told UT it was fortuitous that UT was deKiffined!!!!!!

I am associated with several lawyers that I know through social circles and they know lawyers since all the lawyers talk to each other "off the record" and that is how it was told to me.

My wife works for a law firm in down town Knoxville, and I never heard that. One of the attorneys in the firm is a big time donor .

as far as UT getting more punishment if he stayed. I don't buy it. Dooley has had his share of internal player problems. I hope he gets everything straightened out and gets them winning again. I think Kiffiin did a good job in his year with what he had to play with and Crompton at qb.

How many secondary violations has Dooley had? How many did Kiffin have?
How many of Kiffin's prized recruiting class is still here? He was a complete disaster. And as far as Crompton goes, how could he have possibly been any worse. Any semblance of an offense was an improvement. I'm not saying Kiffin isn't a good gameday coach. But he was bad fit of epic proportions at TN.

Suit yourself but the FACTS are that the NCAA did in FACT reduce the punishment due to the fact that lame was no longer employed by UT.

WADR you are a little out of touch with Kiffin's tenure if you "don't buy it". Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

that Kiffin would have landed better recruits and the team would be better overall, more severe punishment or not.

The NCAA Death Penalty tends to disrupt recruiting - Watch how it affects USC.

Kiffin was a turd and needed to be flushed! Dooley has taken his lumps the last 2 yrs,the ball hasn't bounced his way and the talent was even more depleted when he got here than when Kiffin got here but I think he has learned from his mistakes and has done a decent job of recruiting and we will see a much improved team and coaching staff this year...

Let me explain this to you.....in very succint terms.....if Kiffin had been the coach at UT the NCAA would have hammered UT with a reduction in schollies and a three year probation. What was never revealed was the Hostessgate scandal was in the NCAA's mind a game changer if Kiffin had stayed since this was a repeated pattern as what happened at USC with Bush and Company. UT would have gotten hammered city and there are no if ands or buts about it. Your Kiffin ass kissing is misplaceded at best. I know a lot more but I am proscribed from revealing what I know since it would divulge confidences and sources that I promised to not reveal.....so leave it at Kiffin gone = UT not hammered and accept it.
