Their kicker is seriously in demand.

Good for him.

Good for doing it and good for admitting it.

I think Redd has an offer too, but everybody wants Redd. After cruising a few boards, here are the players I think may have been contacted... Obviously the coaches see LB depth as a huge need.

I'd take Hodges and Fera and call it a day. One adds instant depth at LB, and the other addresses a huge question mark.

I would take any combination of Redd, Hodges, and Fera.

I think all three could both start for us at their positions.

I hate to wish Kiffin success, but please let him get him instead of UGA, if UT isn't gonna get him.

I read something earlier than said that USC didn't offer Redd's major and also that the NCAA was going to interpret that sanctioned teams couldn't exceed limits to sign the PSU players, but those were message board posts, not articles from reputable news outlets.

The NCAA should not allow teams on probation to exceed limits.  Whether they do or not, who knows.

So nut, USCw is NOT over limit?  I don't see how that can be, since they still have limits, but...

Here you go

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/25/sports/ncaafootball/uscs-kiffin-feels-for-penn-state-while-pursuing-its-star.html?_r=1&src=un&feedurl=http%3A%2F%2Fjson8.nytimes.com%2Fpages%2Fsports%2Fncaafootball%2Findex.jsonp

(U.S.C. can take transfers from Penn State, although an N.C.A.A. statement indicated it would not offer flexibility if the Trojans were to go over their 75 scholarship limit.)

The article is about Kiffin's interest in Redd, FWIW

You mean 2012, right?  So they have one slot.  Okay, but if they have 75 on roster, they are still screwed, per the NY Times.

But you know what?  I have seen some stuff about Lane.  In the presser described in the article I just posted, he states that he can't talk about individual players, then starts saying how RB is the only position that he's worried about "depth" at.

Depth?  Depth?  Hell, we need to use that.  If Redd comes to UT, he's pretty much the starter IYAM.  If he goes to USCw, then Laney might be nice enough to pencil him in at no. 2, apparently.  I would absolutely HAMMER USCw for that, if I were one of our coaches.

Depth....pfffft.  Typical Lane letting his mouth get ahead of his brain.  It reveals so much.  Insensitivity to the players, showing his cards prematurely, not being able to shut his piehole.  Then again, he doesn't have a brain.  Just a set of those fake balls people hang on their pickup trucks.  You know, for show only.
