The TV in my office just bit the dust. It was a tube set. I do not have HD cable service in my office. If I buy an HD TV but don't have HD cable, will the TV still work properly?

Tube set

What kind of cable service do you have that does not provide HD?

That being said, if some cable station does not broadcast in HD, you will still see it in standard D

The cable service (Charter) provides HD, I just don't subscribe to it for my office because I had a tube set. If a new HDTV will work fine without subscribing to HD, then I'm not going to subscribe to it for my office. I keep the TV on CNN and ESPN and it's muted half of the time so I don't need HD for my office.

Come on!  He doesn't exist, it stands to reason he would use a TV that no longer exists ..
