My immediate thought is that it is a NC ring.  But it's giant, garish, and purple.  It looks like something he lifted from Liberace's grave.

A lot of people point to the difference in the middle- David Robinson and Pat Ewing vs...Tyson Chandler.  There's also a gap at PG.  Paul and Williams are nice players, but Magic and Stockton are legends.  But to me, it comes down to one simple difference:  One team has Jordan, the other doesn't.  Case closed.
