It was a clanger. He kicked it exactly 63 yards.

Wow, that's cool.  The guy that set the record, many years ago in the 70s, had a special shoe because he only had half a foot.     It definitely gave him an advantage....

Dempsey also didn't have a right hand.

Jason Elam and Sebastian Janikowski have also kicked 63 yarders.
