I just started Sequence 9, and I STILL can't figure out how to recruit assassins. I've got the one guy you get as part of the main storyline, and that's it. There are no markers on the map that I can see, and even the IGN wiki has nothing on it. Have any of you guys figured it out yet?

I have no idea how to do it either. I've put the brakes on the story and am working on all of the secondary stuff now. I think if you clear all the areas from British control you can get more assassin recruits. Use your map to find the zones and then liberate them. I'm working on that as well but haven't gotten a zone freed yet. Been mainly focusing on chasing down those pesky almanac pages.

Per a Yahoo! answer: Complete more of the Liberation missions that have shown up on the city maps once you have recruited your first assassin through the story. In each of the remaining 5 districts (2 left in Boston after the story recruit, and 3 more in New York), there are some small missions you can do resulting in you meeting your new recruit and basically getting a tutorial in their move when it is added to the rest of your recruits. I don't have the game yet but I will want to know that when I start playing.

That's what I thought, but it doesn't seem to be working. I go to what's labeled as a "liberation mission", and I might free a guy from the stockades or kill some soldiers that are harrassing someone. I think those people are about to join me, but they just walk away. And I can hardly even walk down the street in Boston or NY without having half the British army up my ass. It is VERY hard to remain incognito in the cities.

The percentage is shown somewhere on the map but I can't describe it without looking at it.

I'm not sure where I'm at. I just returned from the homestead to Boston by way of a portion of the frontier that included about 5,000 angry bears.

Btw, as someone who is irrationally afraid of heights, the mission to retrieve the power pack nearly did me in.

I haven't even bothered with hunting, other than the tutorial mission. Is there some big reward in it? BTW, Sequence 7 has the most epic storyline missions in the game (so far). If you haven't done any of them, do so asap.

Ok, I just completed every liberation mission on the map in North NY, but my contact there is saying I still have more to do. I also completed everything in West NY, and my contact isn't even there anymore! He just disappeared. WTF?

I put down AC3 today in favor of Halo 4. So far, Halo is fantastic. I love AC3 but ... an hour into Halo, I have to say Halo has exceeded AC3.

I've never even tried a Halo game. Not sure why. But this new one looks really good.

Before AC, Halo was it for me. I chose the Xbox over the PS2 solely based on playing the first Halo for 15 minutes. I have faithfully played every game in the series EXCEPT ODST which was a piece of shizzle money grab. Reach was a different sort of Halo game... sort of like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon in space. But this one is a return to the Master Chief roots. I don't think Halo 4 is as complex or well thought out as AC3, but it's faster paced and really fun.

Could one jump into Halo 4 without playing the others, or do you need to know the whole story?

You might be a little lost during some of the intro sequences but basically you shoot whatever is in front of you and throw grenades. I think you'd adjust.

It's pretty much a shooter, isn't it? I don't enjoy shooters very much unless they have a really, really compelling story (like Bioshock). Does Halo stack up in that department?

In that case I think you'd be better off to start from the beginning if you were going to play it. Just skip ODST and if you wish, Reach. Neither of those are central to the core story of the Master Chief. It does have a great story, but yeah the game play is a futuristic first person shooter.

I'm getting close to the end. There's more Desmond stuff now. That's not a good thing, IMO. I still don't understand WTF is going on in this whole supernatural present-day storyline. You've got this alien chick who looks like she just finished her shift dancing in Jabba the Hut's palace, "explaining" everything, talking in circles, not making any sense. I really wish they had left this part of the story out of it from the very beginning.

Finished the main story. Great ending in the animus, weird ending in present day (as usual). Be sure to watch all the way through the closing credits.

I am into NY finally.
I like the game and there are definite improvements in gameplay, but they've changed the franchise too much for me to think it is as epic as I'd hoped. Also horse control is buggy as hell and I still run up random walls. But fight sequences are more fun than they've ever been.
I think the assassin theory fits best into renaissance Italy.
I think I like the story of halo 4 better. But the playability of AC 3 is high because of all the side stuff. I think they tried to hard to make it like RDR in ways though.

I'm still iffy on how to make money, ie crafting and trade. They've complicated that beyond belief. Now that I've finished the main story, I've put it down to finish Forza Horizon. I'll probably get back into it in a couple weeks.

Getting back to the recruiting thing, I finally figured it out. Most of your liberation missions will show up on your map, but a few won't. You have to walk around blindly to find them. Not sure why they did this.
