Don't mistake Climer's seizing the opportunity to dig UT fans as meaningful opinion. Digging UT is what Climer does best. Seriously, he opens his column by talking about the way the twitterverse blew up after Gruden mentioned Eric Berry on MNF. I mean, wth? I didn't see a single UT fan on Twitter mention that in any way other than sarcastically. I'm pretty sure there are no fans out there over the age of 12 who took the "Eric Berry, former Tennessee Volunteer" reference in any context other than what it was meant.

If the Gruden thing comes to pass, it's going to be a major statement for "non-traditional" media.  Because every columnist in every major TN paper is saying it will never happen.  Meanwhile, message boards, twitter, bloggers, etc. are saying it's practically a done deal.  One side is going to have some serious egg on their face when the smoke clears.
