The only thing that will upset me now is that if it takes a long time to

name a new coach. If we don't name someone quick our chances of hiring a proven winner go down IMHO. We don't need to hire another reach and hope it works out.

Well I don't know what your definition of "long time" is, but I would expect the new hire to be announced at least a couple weeks after Dooley's firing is announced.  We're a public school, and we have to at least make a show of posting the position and interviewing some minority candidates.  Plus, if the rumors are to be believed, our next coach won't be available until 12/22 anyway.
