BTW, just about everyone who said "no way, no how" are either national media types who don't cover UT very often, talk radio yahoos, or columnists, who generally just write opinion pieces and do no investigating on their own. Most of the beat writers and others who are plugged in to the goings on in the AD have had it pegged as AT LEAST a possibility from day one.

IMO that would be a great move for Franklin. I don't like the guy, but he can coach the game of football. Arky could return to the realm of relevance very quickly if he repeats his performance at Vandy. Then Vandy would go back to being Vandy again.

Wow. Just read through that forum. They're convinced. My first thought is to say they're delusional but I remember reading a Michigan board in December '97 and thinking they were delusional when they said everyone should boycott the Heisman if Woodson didn't win. I remember how that one turned out. One of these fan bases is gonna be sorely disappointed. |

Is Franklin that good of a coach or did he get lucky with a watered down SEC schedule. This year they are 5 - 3 in the SEC. However, look at those five wins: UT and Auburn or are at their lowest points in history, Missouri who is trying to learn how to compete in the SEC and when they played them Missouri was using their back-up QB, UK who is UK and also at one of their lowest points in history, and Ole Miss who is rebuilding. The best win out of that group is Ole Miss. I am still not convinced he is that great of a coach. |

Vandy hadn't won 5 SEC games since 1955. So there's that. Also, how do you think Vandy's talent level compares to the five teams they beat? to be generous, it may be better than UK and even with Ole Miss. The other three wins are over more talented teams. Franklin is a very good coach. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Auburn or Arkansas soon. |

When it comes to winning SEC football games, it doesn't take much to impress the hell out me anymore....for some reason. |

Compared to our recently departed coach he's General Neyland, Bear Bryant and Knute Rockne all rolled up into one. He's taken Vanderbilt, I repeat, V-A-N-D-E-R-B-I-L-T, to two bowl games in a row. 'Nuff said. |

Franklin is Lane Kiffin, minus the hair and the cloud of NCAA suspicion. I do not like him, I do not want him. But he is an excellent coach. To do what he has done at Vanderbilt in the short time he has done it in is nothing but impressive. I'm surprised his name hasn't gotten more mention amidst the UT speculation. Tennessee could do far worse, that's for sure. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him at Arkansas.

All that matters is the wins. Fans aren't going to like any coach who doesn't win. They're going to like any coach who does win. Where that coach was at previously doesn't matter. |

Saban is not a realistic option. But even if he was my reason for not wanting him is i think hes a cheating pos but thats just me.
