It was never said that he had a heart attack but it was his heart that did him in. He had been having trouble for a while. He first took a leave of absence for this season due to health problems. It's been just two weeks since St. Louis announced that he was through as a coach and it was speculated at the time that he was gravely ill and fighting for his life.
